CEEP participated on Wednesday 26th September in the 3rd LABOUR INT dissemination seminar held in Sofia, which was organised in cooperation with CEEP’s partner from ETUC and their member Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB).
The dissemination seminar was an opportunity for CEEP to demonstrate the outcome of the LABOUR INT 1 skills and migration expert group’s work. CEEP presented its work in the framework of the integration of refugees in the labour market and stated the goals, methodology and content of the project. CEEP explained the LABOUR INT 1 approach in terms of the actions that need to be taken, the actors that need to be involved and the tools that need to be used for the successful integration of refugees in the labour market. It was stressed that, building on the interest and capacities of employers, chambers of industry and commerce, trade unions and migrant associations, LABOUR INT promotes multi-layered integration paths, from arrival up to the workplace, passing through education, training and job placement. Therefore, it was emphasized that one of the main objectives of the project is to establish a closer cooperation between several key stakeholders by exchanging objectives, methods and practices of labour market integration of refugees.
Public services’ employers play an essential role in creating job placements for refugees and this is why it is of great importance for CEEP to pursue its commitment to work with the other economic and social partners at the European level to support the inclusion of refugees into the labour market.
The next dissemination conference to be organised in the framework of LABOUR INT will be held in Stockholm, next 7 November 2018:
