The Macroeconomics Task Force’s main function is to represent the CEEP in the Macro-economic Dialogue.
Moreover, it elaborates position papers on major economic themes and provides economic inputs into the debate between the European Social Partners.
The Macro-economic Dialogue is an institutionalised form of discussion between the European Council, the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the European Social Partners. It was established by the European Council in June 1999 in Cologne.
The Dialogue takes place twice a year, first at technical level and thereafter at political level. Its purpose is to make the voice of the Social Partners heard in European macro-policy making.
