European Social Partners' joint papers presented at the Employment Summit
During the Employment Summit of 07 May 2009 in Prague, the European Social Partners presented their joint work programme for 2009-2010 as well as the Joint recommendations on support to economic recovery by the European Social Fund. The European Social Partners reinforce their commitment to jointly address Europe’s major social, economic and environmental challenges. This calls for an active role by the social partners at all levels alongside that of the public authorities. This Work Programme spells out the autonomous initiatives which the European Social Partners will undertake during 2009-2010. > Joint Work Programme 2009-2010 The European social partners have agreed on a series of joint recommendations on how to optimise the role of the European Social Fund in times of crisis. The European Social Fund represents the EU’s main financial instrument for investing in people by supporting the implementation of active inclusion measures, activation measures, re-training and skills upgrading. The European Economic Recovery Plan rightly highlighted the important role of the ESF for supporting economic recovery. > Joint recommendations on support to economic recovery by the European Social Fund
