|GENERAL RAPPORTEUR||To be appointed|
|CEEP GENERAL SECRETARY||Johannes IMMINGER|
The Environment Task Force has a heavy work programme as an environment-friendly society is on the agenda of the Europe2020 Strategy. The dimensions of climate change, whether it is for mitigation or adaptation pruposes, should now be included in all policies.
The member enterprises of CEEP dealing with waste management, soil protection, urban planning, tourism, but also energy, water and transport are concerned with environmental issues.
Besides the climate action topics, the Environment Task Force is also concerned by the – lack of – implementation of directives adopted since the early 2000s. This aspect of their activities make the Environment Task Force a partner of the EU institutions in caring for a good conversion of EU law, and particularly of framework directives, into Member States’ law.
The current review of the waste strategy is a major topic on the agenda. CEEP is very active in contributing to a sustainable waste policy, which very often requires an adequate implementation of the susbsidiarity principle.
